SUNDAY 3 AUGUST 2025: NINE YEARS 246 DAYS

Stayed in bed chillin’ listening to Junior Delgado all morning after my funny night out. Got up to drive to Greenwich Park for Jessie’s Mother Jo’s 65th birthday party. It was a beautiful day with music in the bandstand, snacks and prosecco. Just as we were leaving the heavens opened and we scurried to get everything packed up. This is a cute but terrible photograph of the birthday girl 🥰

Getting up early on a Sunday to go to work.
Great shift with great colleagues

SATURDAY 2 AUGUST 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 245 DAYS

A very long story but the shorter version is…I got catfished…but had a Plan B so swiveled that bullshit around and had a very funny, successful and highly entertaining evening with a bass player from Junior Delgado including dancing in Canada Water to his band, dinner in Finsbury Park and groovin’ in The Chip Shop, Brixton. Very proud how I turned that dull disappointment around 💪🏼🥰 *****

Weekend shift, so back at Rigshospitalet for a Saturday dayshift. A gloomy and rainy day with cosy thunder and Lightning outside.
A good shift despite being a bit busy.

WEDNESDAY 30 JULY 2025: NINE YEARS 242 DAYS

Walked the Camel Path with Otto to check out where Jo Knight’s house is, as a little expedition. Then drove back to Plymouth stopping at a place that sells vans on the way to check out a couple of slightly larger vans..*****

Mixed weather with sun and rain showers. Had friends over for a light dinner after a nice day at work and a really lovely neck and shoulder stretching and breathing class at the hospital gym.

SUNDAY 27 JULY 2025: NINE YEARS 239 DAYS

It was this lady’s birthday at the weekend and she was sooo good with Otto. She retrained him to jump through a hoop and also to have cheese on his paws without eating it. Something I never predicted was the very special feeling inside when someone is kind to your pet. It literally melts me 🥰 *****

Last day of summer holiday. Letting this grasshopper out in the free before leaving the summerhouse and going back to the city.

SATURDAY 26 JULY 2025: NINE YEARS 238 DAYS

Camping by The Pig’s Nose, East Prawle with friends and their friends. Saw The Allergies Saturday night. Had a fun day chilling under my awning in the morning with light rain, then the sun came out and we went to the beach. Fun weekend. *****

Doing some gardening and weeding in my flower bed and getting fascinated with the micro life under the bushes and greens.

FRIDAY 25 JULY 2025: NINE YEARS 237 DAYS

Drove to East Prawle to meet up with friends from Exeter. Camping, relaxing. I walked down to the sea with Otto and had a skinny dip. Found a hair clip, saw a couple far ahead, clipped it to Otto’s collar and told him to give it to them. He ran as far as them but then came back. Gave up. Later on bumped into them and it is was her hair clip so could give it back. This was their photo of the view which they sent to me as I didn’t have my camera. Funny little random incident. The sort I love 🥰 *****

Back from Jutland and back in the summerhouse enjoying the warm summer night on the terrace.

MONDAY 21 JULY 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 233 DAYS

Went to the German embassy to sort my work visa for work in September …it unfortunately wasn’t where I was supposed to be so shouted Taaaaxiiii and jumped in a black cab to the right place half an hour away. Silly mistake and in my past I would have got stressed and probably cried. Today I took it in my stride. People are slowly dying in Palestine, this is nothing. Proud of reacting suitably. Sorted out my visa, took the bus back to the train station and had time to buy all sorts of yumminess for the journey back to Devon*****

Breakfast of champions; berries from the garden and freshly brewed coffee.

SUNDAY 20 JULY 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 232 DAYS

A full on day waking up, packing up my van, driving back to Plymouth, dropping Otto home, repacking, walking to the station, taking train to London, getting across London to Peckham to Jessie’s. Had such a fun night having a couple of pints at her cute local then her cooking the best yummy aubergine/rice/pickled ginger/avocado dish. A busy but fun day.*****

Quiet day at the summerhouse, chilling in the garden and having an evening visit from this deer creature.
