THURSDAY 2 OCTOBER 2025: NINE YEARS 306 DAYS

My first evening gig as a paid bat detector. Yes you may now call me Bat Woman 🦇 A gorgeous long walk on Dartmoor with Sarah before that. Bliss. ****

My colleague Ole has been appointed professor of the structural Cardiology in Copenhagen and in his inauguration speech he mentioned the great collaboration with a lot of colleagues and also the teamwork and collaboration with my team ‘the TVT nurses’ .
Proud of him and proud of being part of a great team.

WEDNESDAY 1 OCTOBER 2025: NINE YEARS 305 DAYS

Went back to paint the second vine at the yoga studio *****

Work and then a walk in the nearby Søndermarken.
On returning to my apartment, this pigeon was enjoying some autumn berries from the bush outside my front door.
It was not pleased with me interrupting its lovely meal and stared at me with contempt, when passing it to get to the door.

MONDAY 29 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 303 DAYS

I was anxious before going but once I was there it was great. Weird as I never used to experience anxiety. Bloody hormones! Started painting a mural along the bottom of the mirrors at my yoga studio. Had to lie down to do it, had podcasts playing and focus completely on making it neat. Swam in the sea afterwards *****

Still feeling weak from a virus and still no sense of smell.
Exhausted after work, but still up for going to the cinema in Carlsberg byen.

SUNDAY 28 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 302 DAYS

A very slow day reading my book and strolling round while my friends were busy. Drove home after dinner. *****

Still not feeling great, but enough energy to clean up and clear out these 2 cupboards to make room for Peters parents’ heirloom service.
It’s Musselmalet Royal Copenhagen plates and bowls inherited from Peter’s grandparents.
Used to be the fancy service, but we are going to use it for every day.

SATURDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 301 DAYS

Walked the dogs and sat in Piers’ pond/lake to cool out vagus nerves. He has planted a pink labernum tree in honour of me. Felt lovely. Later went to Jo and Ryan’s for a long beautiful grounding walk. Cocktails and yummy dinner as ever followed off by Four Weddings and a Funeral. Bliss. *****

Not well enough to go to work but well enough to cook a chilli sin carne.
Roasted spices on a pan, but lost all sense of smell, so couldn’t smell a thing. Still luckily had taste buds intact, so still enjoyed the taste.

FRIDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 300 DAYS

My friend Michael, over on a surfing trip from Denmark, came by for a visit to my home, a fast walk around Central Park and a cream tea. His eyes were too big for his belly so ate 2. I ridiculously copied him. We both staggered away too full of clotted cream 🤣 *****

Love the morning light in our apartment. Got up semi early to go to work, but only lasted half a day and had to go home because I still feel ill.

THURSDAY 25 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 299 DAYS

My friend Kate from down the road, a seagull and a cormorant hanging out at Tranquility Bay. We’re getting into the swing of regular sea swims to maintain healthy minds *****

Still on a sick leave, but feeling a slight recovery, so ventured out on a little walk and found a nice sunny spot in Vesterbro to enjoy a lemon meringue pie and coffee. It was the outburst of energy for the day and felt ill again in the evening.

SUNDAY 21 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 295 DAYS

A lovely authentic phonecall with a very old friend bucked me into gear to get some jobs completed. Repainting my bath panel and sealing it with yacht varnish so my bathroom will be 100% finished.****

Visiting Gunhild at the nursery center, she was in great form and we could talk about the last couple of months events in a really compassionate and comprehensible manner.
Afterwards back to Peter’s childhood home to take away personal belongings, since the farm has been sold with inventory.
So a chapter being closed.

SATURDAY 20 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 294 DAYS

A windy walk, a light rain while we were walking sheltered under the trees ending with a delicious spicy yummy lunch in a cosy pub overlooking the village = a perfect Saturday..🥰 *****

Drove to Jutland to visit Peter’s Mother.
All the roundabouts in Skive area have an art installation in the middle, I like this Big Golden orb, just because it’s big and shiny.

FRIDAY 19 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 293 DAYS

Otto rolled in poo in the park. That summed up the feeling of the day. But later as my friend Dave reminded me “There’s a horrible effect, where one set of negative thoughts can suck in other older ones. It’s such an annoying thing” Having an old friend get in touch and with words of wisdom was enough to lift the mood *****

Went to the fishmonger after work. Looking for something that would go well with paprika, since Peter brought home fresh paprika from Budapest.
Ended up buying a squid (from the danish sea) and fried it on a pan after it was turned over in a flour and paprika mix.
Enjoyed it with really cold and fresh non alcoholic beers.

TUESDAY 16 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 290 DAYS

Had a lovely morning chilling with breakfast at the van.  We then explored Sennen which was beautiful, wild and turquoise. Pub crawl round Porthleven looking for where to eat in the evening *****

Great course with really interactive workshops and lots of sharing knowledge and experiences across Europe on the subject of how the nurse can help lead and manage the patient pathway for patients with heart valve disease. There were participants from both Israel and Palestine too.

MONDAY 15 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 289 DAYS

Drove to meet a friend in Porthleven who’s over from Denmark surfing his way round the coast. Went for a lovely walk around Lake Loe. Dinner in a delicious seafood restaurant in Porthleven, Kota Kai. ****

Yesterday spent all day and night working at Rigshospitalet in Copenhagen. Today dipping my feet in Lake Genève.
Participating in an international course for nurse heart valve coordinators in Morges, Switzerland.

SUNDAY 14 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 288 DAYS

Spent the day figure sculpting. Our hot dry summer stopped abruptly a few weeks ago and since had been mainly rain with the occasional sunshine…which has been fine with me. *****

A looooong day at work, arrived at 7 o’clock in the morning and left just before midnight after over 16 hours straight work.
This Sunday there was a half Marathon taking place in Copenhagen and my day also felt a bit like a Marathon but great colleagues made the day and night pass in a jiff.

SATURDAY 13 SEPTEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 287 DAYS

Went with Lucy to Saltash to look at bigger vans getting a better idea of what I’m after. Then cycled to the Barbican to help Christa with her selfie station promoting an art exhibition she has in November at a rum distillery in Plymouth *****

Really busy day at work. Came home and got mesmerized by really dramatic clouds and a far away rumbling thunder outside my window.
