THURSDAY 24 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 145 DAYS

From saying goodbye to the slightly handsie old farmer at Loch Lochy to an hour and a half north of Ullapool. Fish and chips on the beach in Ullapool and a food shop. This is the beach my niece had recommended, walked along it at sunset and then drove north…persevered and found a perfect spot with a private beach near Clashnessie.*****

So just another day at the office until a colleague from another department asked if I could be willing to be interviewed for a small video that is going to be shown at a nursing conference in 3 weeks.
The original participant was sick, so they needed a substitute.
No preparation and not a fan of seeing or hearing myself on screen, but lines the theme of the video; it was about promoting a common goal for nursing care throughout the hospital and regardless of speciality or department with the headline Tryghed under sygdom ( feeling safe/secure during illness, not a precise translation, but something along that way)
Didn’t get a picture of the whole set up, so this is a picture of me on the way home in the elevator.

WEDNESDAY 23 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 144 DAYS

A perfect morning at my first wild camp spot on my roadtrip. Made a bird surveyor a cup of tea, got busted by an estate manager but by the end of the really lovely chat he said “if you decide to stay again tonight….” so that was a win….Packed up and drove north seeing some stunning glens and ending up at Loch Lochy…*****

Only picture I took all day.
An invitation to an afternoon of education and inspiration about current research and studies taking place at our ward the heart valve unit.

TUESDAY 22 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 143 DAYS

I had a fun morning with my nieces and great nephew in Edinburgh. Then I drove north to just beyond Callendar to do some wild camping with Otto. Found a pretty spectacular spot and had a blissful golden hour meander nearby. As I looked into this abandoned cottage a huge white owl flew out of it somehow missing my head. It was a huge surprise and a very special moment.*****

After work, met up with a treasured colleague that is currently on maternity leave. We went to an event about heart failure which was held as part of the day of science and research (Forskningens døgn). An event meant to boost support and awareness to science and research.
Really exciting to meet a lot of young and clever scientists studying the tiniest molecules to understand the heart better.
This is a ratheart and in the top left corner a mouse heart.

SATURDAY 19 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 139 DAYS

A lovely walk with Emily and Emilia along the Hermitage and up Blackford Hill. Unfortunately Emily slipped and hurt her leg so we hobbled with her back down.****

Finally getting around to repot this palm tree that I bought 10 years ago and which is struggling to keep the roots underground in its tiny pot. Hope it will be happy in its new pot.
Remember being able to carry the palm tree home from the shop 10 years ago and think it has doubled in size.

FRIDAY 18 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 138 DAYS

Otto reunited with his running buddy, Simon in Northumberland. Otto was a surprise visit for his 3 sons who had cared for Otto for 3 months while I was in India. A lot of love.*****

Visiting Peters parents in Jutland. Making sure they are ok, after Peters dad had just been to the hospital.
Found this old invitation letter, dated February 1958, from a master chef, inviting interested folks (housewifes) to a cooking class.

THURSDAY 17 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 137 DAYS

Caught up with friends in Northamptonshire. A lovely wee stop and catch up before heading north.****

Peter’s daughter moving out and moving all the way to the wild west coast of Denmark.
She lives next to this house with a stork living on the chimney.
So we helped her move and drove all her belongings in a big trailer from Copenhagen to the West coast.

MONDAY 14 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 134 DAYS

Met up with Jessie at Sarah’s camping spot on Dartmoor near South Brent. We camped in the furthest spot and went exploring and foraging in grey wet weather. It’s always such a joy to be with Jessie.*****

Went to see Niels, Peters dad, at the hospital in Viborg, Jutland. He was weak, but doing better.
After the visit, took the train back to Copenhagen. Was home and in bed around 23.00.
Took a picture of this light from the street and shadows on the ceiling. I always think it looks a bit like a gecko.

SUNDAY 13 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 133 DAYS

Me and Sarah after a lovely chilled morning with a rainbow and coffee, our first camping weekend together. Fun times. Early nights.*****

After an extremely busy day at work, drove across the country from Copenhagen to Hjerk in Jutland (nearly 400km) to see my in laws who were not doing so well.
It is quite an achievement since I rarely drive and haven’t been driving for longer than an hour for years, but it went really nice and smooth.
And the in laws were doing a tiny bit better when I got there.

TUESDAY 8 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 128 DAYS

It’s been so good getting back in the habit of going to the studio regularly. Yoga, walking, painting, ….repeat. Healthy living, producing work. Feels good.*****

Helping out at a small workshop, reduced length of stay (after TAVR/ transcatheter aortic valve replacement) for nurses and doctors at the hospital after regular work hours.
It was held in a new modern building with a beautiful mosaic staircase.

SUNDAY 6 APRIL 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 126 DAYS

Had a lovely Sunday with new friends from the gig who’d I’d met before at a party of friends on Dartmoor. We went to a sweet little cove, Ayrmer Cove and had a fun afternoon chilling, laughing and swimming. Found this cute lil critter…*****

A relaxed day at the summer house. Read the newspaper and went for walk at the beach where I found a Stone with a Hole in it, yeah.
