Decided last minute to drive to Truro in Cornwall to see a podcaster I listen to called Blindboy. I went on my own, got a last minute ticket in the front row, then bumped into people I knew when I arrived. It was a funny, interesting night with Dr Martin Shaw as his guest. Camped in my van about 40 feet from the theatre. Rock n f£#@ing roll! *****
Haven’t heard or seen the word gåsegang in ages and suddenly I come across the word twice in 2 days; Yesterday my runny buddy said it as we passed some geese and today in a book about a lady who has moved to England; Helle, Helle; Hey Hafni.
Walked to my studio with Otto and worked on my painting…I had wondered whether there would be baby seagulls on the roof opposite my studio this summer….*****
That time of the month. Still going for my monthly race with my running buddy Camilla. Christianshavner milen which is 7,532 km ( which is a danish mile). Met these geezers on the way, walking in ‘gåsegang’ 😉
Drove my van to an area I had driven near but didn’t know. Found a beautiful spot where I could be and Otto could run free. Stayed there all afternoon and skinny dipped in the river nourishing myself*****
First day of summer and sunshine in my garden, and these 2 fellas hanging out in my flowers, bliss.
A food shop and a clothes wash. Exhausted and an emotional come down. But plants are still magical *****
After work drove up to my summer house and my kinda domestic wild garden. Letting everything grow, only grooming whatever is overtaking and strangling everything else. The garden is full of life and bursting with greenness.
Home and confused. But flowers are still magical *****
Going out for dinner with 2 good friends. Went to Kødbyen ‘The Meat Packing District’ That used to be our old playground, dancehall, eating and partying place. Tonight we just went for dinner and a look about at all the Young party people, since we all had to get up early for work ( even on a Saturday) the next day.
Had a swim and a sauna in an outdoor pool bang in the centre of London opposite the Shaftesbury Theatre. Then wandered aimlessly around…took a bus back to Greenwich, packed up the van and drove home. Traffic was terrible leaving London but it was good to be driving home.*****
First time visiting my friend’s summer house in Høve, Asnæs, Sjællands Odde. She lives in an apartment in Frederiksberg so this is her green oasis where her kids can roam around freely.
Had a great meeting at MDM props, then walked back along the river popping into The Cutty Sark and The Trafalgar Pubs which had been recommended and the Great Hall at the Old Royal Naval College followed by pie and mash at the legendary Goddard’s. Dinner out with friends in the evening.*****
After a long day at work, and then outdoor aikido practice, it was lovely to go to the public spa in Østerbro.
One foot in the West and one foot in the East. At the Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory. Greenwich*****
Picking up my fixed mountainbike at the bike shop in the woods. It was really wet and raining a lot, but still went for a spin in the forest Hareskoven.
Drove up to London to housesit for friends. Walked round Greenwich Park and saw these beautifully dressed Muslim girls praying *****
The yearly family reunion, a get together of my mum’s sisters and my mum’s cousins. Meeting up every year at some place of cultural interest historical or temporary, but always on Fyn or the tiny Islands around Fyn. This year’s cultural input, Brandts Klædefabrik in Odense and this is part of a sensory labyrinth.
Studio day followed by an opening of a lovely photography exhibition by friend Tim Sullivan. Walked home via The Box and joined some friends for drinks in the sun and as we say more and more friends joined. It was fun. *****
BikStok røgsystem concert celebrating 20 year anniversary of the album “over stok og sten”. Went with my friend Christina and we had a great dance session and ran into my brother, also great.
So good to be able to walk again properly after my injured knee. Walking to the studio and painting everyday is my routine and am thoroughly feeling good about the Post Scotland era of painting.*****
Challenging day at work, but managed because of great and hard working colleagues. Also managed to bicycle to work and later to Aikido without getting caught in the rain. A Big challenge in this ever changing pre-summer weather; Sun&showers, sun&showers etc.
I am a woman of my word. You can rely on me. I told Simon in Missouri I would have a pasty for him. Well the time came and this is it. The trouble is he’s Cornish. And this is going to really hurt….I had a Devonshire pasty for him. Up yours Simon 😂 (where’s the ‘V’ fingers emoji when you need it 😉?!)*****
Bought tickets for this Raveonettes concert at the Royal theater about 6 weeks ago which felt like a lifetime ago. A good concert and great atmosphere.
Took my van to the garage for a new exhaust. It’s so much higher than the last one so very happy. Walked and sat by the water while it was done and discovered these cool discs displayed at various points ******
Had the day off, and needed to bring my mountainbike to the mechanics to fix the brake. After turning the bike in, went on a long detour walk through Hareskoven (the Hare forest) to the train station Skovbrynet St (Edge of the wood station).
Driving home from Jylland to Copenhagen, Sjælland. Tough weekend with a lot of thoughts and difficult transitions and decisions, but also hope and a lifted spirit. Storebæltsbroen brightly and colourfully lit this evening.
Walked to my studio listening to my latest playlist. Painted and was incredibly distracted by an artist in London. Left the studio and had a gorgeous catch up with my beautiful friend Sharon in her garden****
Getting through the day, despite a lot of tears. But also this little fella nibbling in the Garden grounds. Hjerk, Jylland.
My friend Pippa came over. I needed to rest my knee but we had a lovely day catching up, having lunch and then a walk round Central Park. My knee wasn’t sore walking so hooray *****
Finally painted my bath panel. Instead of buying a boring (expensive) plastic panel I used a piece of ply. It isn’t finished but so far I like it ******
