MONDAY 1 NOVEMBER 2025: TEN YEARS 🎉🥳🥰

A lovely lady Emma moved into my guest bedroom yesterday and today I hung the Christmas wreath she’d made on the front door. I have now been doing this photography blog everyday for ten years. That’s pretty mad! So many collaborators, so many moments captured in time. So much synchronicity between photographs. 🥰*****

Everybody ( or most of the colleagues) at work has brought a gift for a sort of secret Santa thing. Every day a name is picked from the yellow bucket and then they can pick a present from this pile of presents.

SATURDAY 29 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 364 DAYS

A beautiful autumn walk in the park and a last minute dash to a choir singing in St Andrews Church in town. Kate’s friend Irina was playing the piano. It was an excellent performance including some very sweet school children*****

Really hungover morning; never drinking shots again.
Still managed to go to the NAFF Awards.
NAFF stands for Nordic Adventure Film Festival, showing lots of exciting adventure documentaries from the Nordic and the rest of the world.
It’s friends of mine Sofie and Bugge who have kept this Festival running for 30 years, which meant 30th anniversary this year.
A lot of good old friends and familiar faces, great atmosphere and sense of inclusive community.

MONDAY 24 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 359 DAYS

Safely waking up in my bed again. A sorting out day sending off another clothing package and listing more things. Dropped off a forgotten jacket to Mark in town *****

No rest for the wicked. After a long nightshift, coffee and then meeting up with my good bicycle pall Camilla in Hareskoven.
Nice ride in the forest in crisp fresh weather before the sleet and rain started in the afternoon.

SUNDAY 23 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 358 DAYS

Undercover sleeping in the centre of Nottingham. 💪🏼 Toasty and slept well. After a greasy spoon fry up we visited Kev’s mother briefly then I picked Otto up from Phillip’s then drove me and Mark back to Plymouth (which was a looooong way!) *****

A lot of work this Sunday; dayshift then home to rest a couple of hours and back for a nightshift. Christmas spirits has already hit the Kingdom (= Riget, nickname for the hospital (Rigshospitalet)).

SATURDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 357 DAYS

A lazy catching up day at Chippy Jez’s pad for the weekend. Then beers, a gig of a Nottingham band and then a grungy club for some jungle finally! Delicious jerk chicken for the walk home. *****

It’s graduation day in my Dojo; Copenhagen Aiki Shuren Dojo.
A lot of Dan graduations which is above the black belt level. A graduation is more about showing what Aikido you hold, then it is about examination. But still a big deal. Two of my fellow Aikido practitioners warming up before their turn to hit the floor.

FRIDAY 21 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 356 DAYS

Our city pad for the night. First time me and Kev have met up in the UK. Previously Chamonix, Val d’Isere, Prague and Copenhagen. A house music night with his friends who formed Quadrant. In the 90s Kev bought an old fire engine and drove it to Prague throwing parties across Europe on the way. *****

Another day off. Making the most of it on this frosty but sunny and clear day.
Aikido training in the morning and then a quick mountainbike ride in a snow covered Hareskoven. Spending time around trees is healing and good for the soul.

THURSDAY 20 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 355 DAYS

Picked Kev’s son up and drove to Northamptonshire to stop at Phillips’s for the night. A yum dinner in the grand dining room then I decided, on the coldest night of the year, it was a good idea to turn down a four poster bed and to sleep in my van 🙃 It was bloody cold but I did have a heated blanket. Shaking my head at me 😂 *****

Had the day off, so went for a short visit to the summerhouse. Weather a bit grey, cold and gloomy.
Made delicious hot pumpkin soup for dinner, perfect for an autumn day.

TUESDAY 18 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 353 DAYS

Went to my studio for the first time in far too long. Was good to be back. Managed to get 2 lengths of wood off the back of my latest painting without damaging it too much. Walked back appreciating my seaside town *****

Communal and regional election day in Denmark. The queue for the election booths was massive, but everybody was cheerful and in good moods about it, feeling extremely fortunate to live in a free democracy.

SUNDAY 16 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 351 DAYS

Messaged a friend to go for a walk and she told me she was about to go on one with a group. Jumped out of bed, made coffee and packed lunch and met them all. Ended up walking from Jennycliff in Plymouth to Wembury and back again. A lovely day and a ten mile walk.******

Woke up in the summerhouse to a frosty morning with white glittering frost covering the ground.
Went for a fresh walk at the beach enjoying the crisp clear weather.

FRIDAY 14 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 349 DAYS

Listed a whole bunch more clothes on Vinted. Then got ready to go out and celebrate Amy’s birthday at the Bread and Roses. A great fun night of friends, beer and dancing *****

Long day at work, but after work went to our summerhouse for a hyggelig weekend.
Made svampetoast = toast with butterfried mushrooms, delicious and cosy comfort food.

THURSDAY 13 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 348 DAYS

A lovely walk in Central Park with my friend Kate down the road where we did gratitudes to rewire our brains and we also set some goals for the day. One of mine was to get 3 items listed on Vinted, a place where you can sell clothes. I’ve been meaning to do it for over 2 years but today, because we’d agreed actually did it! ****

Days are getting shorter and darker.
Went to work and then Aikido in the evening.
The Dojo is located on Valbygårdsvej, so this is the view of the skyline when I bicycle home from Aikido.

WEDNESDAY 12 NOVEMBER 2025: NINE YEARS 347 DAYS

Fixing a leak at my back door, taking the plaster off inside as it is so wet. But ending the day with a sauna / plungepool combo, the Lord High Admiral and the best pizzas at Amy and Kieran’s for Amy’s birthday 🥰 ****

Had the day off so went to Aikido in the morning and passed a local bakery with really delicious danish. Chilled and had a relaxing cup of coffee. Also made it to the forest Hareskoven for a lovely mountain bike ride before the dark. And the best news of the day; the water is back on in our bathroom. It has been shut off for 2 weeks because of maintenance of the drain pipes.
