Started yoga again, walked Otto with his current best friend Fish, found my first snowdrop….*****
More stairs at Hillerød Hospital, finding the right place to be in a huge spread out compound.

I filled in my bathroom skirting board and painted it listening to podcasts. Then went across to inquire about dinghy sailing courses at a watersports school that had been recommended and discovered a new area which looks across to Plymouth with fresh perspective.*****
Busy day at work, home to prepare a lovely meal of baked beetroot and feta, then Aikido practice and arriving at my front door knowing a lovely meal is ready to munch when I reach the fourth floor.

Spent the morning doing business style things, planning on securing some work contracts for the year. Bought Seville oranges, put frames in my studio, tidied a corner of my sitting room that I’ve ignored for months. A friend popped round for a birthday catch up which was lovely, mid mess. And as I lay down to sleep unsleepy I looked out of my window to find out why …*****
The view from my Office at Rigshospitalet never gets old.

Went across to Ivybridge to walk with a friend from the Muddy Boots…had a gorgeous walk with sun and a stunning river and lovely chats. This threatening sky went away but was so beautiful for a minute. Achievement: reaching out and bringing joy to me, Otto and the other person. 🥰 *****
Getting up early on a Sunday is always an achievement, especially when you are all cosy and warm under your duvet and it is frosty outside.
But being out in the sun and going to aikido is always worthwhile.

Up and out with The Muddy Boots for a lovely cold snowy muddy walk on an area of Dartmoor I hadn’t been before. Good times.. exhausted when I got home so hot chocolate, bath and bed with a hot water bottle before 6….then realised it was a Saturday night! My how I’ve changed 😂*****
A new delicious veggie bolo recipe with Beluga lentils, so called I guess from their resemblance to Caviar..?

A sauna and swims in the sea for my birthday. Also randomly networked while there asking for someone’s card as this year is about working in fields that excite me…theatre, film, events….Drove to Budleigh Salterton afterwards delaying ending my birthday trip. Walked all along the estuary to Otterton making Otto happy and ready for a bath when we got home 🐶*****
Always commuting to work at Rigshospitalet on my bicycle whatever the weather.

Woke up in my lovely pub room, walked to the beach, swam in the sea building up an appetite for my breakfast. It was a perfect sunny, cold day 🥰 Walked along the coast to Beer. Wandered round, then managed to find a stall by the sea selling fish. I had wanted oysters and a chilled white wine. While he shucked the oysters, I bought white wine and then a lady in the art gallery gave me a beautiful mug to have as a vessel for my wine..buzzing with joy 💥 A beautiful walk back, a tired me, chilled evening in the pub eating then relaxing in my room welcoming my new year in 😊*****
Leaving the Dojo after a really sweaty, hard and dynamic training. Really love this Aikido and love our Dojo.
Also on this date always thinking about you, Victoria, and David Bowie 😉

I didn’t know what to do for my Thursday birthday this year so thought about it carefully and decided to go away for a couple of nights with Otto and walk and maybe see a friend for lunch or dinner while away. The forecast was terrible (ice/snow forecast) so left early picking up supplies along the way and had a very cosy afternoon relaxing in my lovely bougie pub room, followed by a sleety, muddy, very wet walk around the village, across the fields and back along the coast path.*****
On my way to the hospital gym after my day shift at Rigshospitalet (Riget/The Kingdom). Didn’t go still.

I woke up and noticed a light at Maker Church, Cornwall which I can see from my bed. I zoomed in using my Canon SX740 and discovered it was a cross. *****
A really dear colleague of mine, had invited a few people from work over for dinner after work, before traveling to Canada to visit her eldest daughter and newest grandchild for 2 months.
She made a lovely hot pot and a dessert so yummy, that we all wanted the recipe and it was even glutenfree.
So this is a photograph of the recipe, which goes back decades.

Suggested a walk to a friend who needed to get out and about. She knows the area very very well but didn’t know one of my favourite places to walk on occasion. Achievement for me knowing a secret spot! *****
Back at work and then home to make cheap and healthy and low impact dinner.

Quite an achievement for Otto today! He always loves to lie on this, a tufted piece of art I made…and today I accepted he is allowed. It looks so good on the floor and life is too short.*****
Yeah, the car made it all the way home.
Arriving in Frederiksberg to a mild snow storm.

Made banana cake, had a lovely friend round for a catch up and then repotted this plant which had mouldy soil and trained it to climb around the space where the wall was *****
Leaving WinterWonderland Lourtier in the morning, driving back to Denmark. At this point still at ease and pretty relaxed, but later on when we hit the five lane highway in Basel and the car started acting up, started to get nervous if we would make it home.
Passing the very steep Hills South of Kassel, the car couldn’t go any faster than 50 km/h, but made it past the Kassel Hills.

A crisp wintery walk around the park and kitchen sorting putting things back into the kitchen after painting the floor.*****
Went to bed Thursday night with rain on the window. Woke up Friday morning to 20cm of fresh snow and blue sky.
Went snowboarding from early morning ’til last lift.

I have finally seen Rock, a village I have heard about for years but never seen! Just across from Padstow on a walk with Jessie’s family. I also bought myself 4 pairs of socks…quite an achievement as I have never bought socks before….😂🙃*****
Achievement; making it up to the top of the mountain (Savoleyres 2344m) in this very squeaky 70s lift in Verbier.

A big long walk along the Camel Trail in Padstow with our two pups in the rain…lovely walk of achievement to allow guilt free chilling for the rest of the day, the first of 2025! 🔥💥🥰 *****
First day of the new year, getting up early to go piste touring, making our way all the way over to the fourth valley Veysonnaz and back home to Lourtier again.
Went to Veysonnaz on ski holiday once before with my parents as a kid, but didn’t quite recognise the mountain.

Padstow for New Year with this gorgeous woman and her family. Heaven. Games, joy, good food and laughter. Best way to end 2024 💥🔥🥰*****
A moment of resting after a great day on the snowboard with bluebird sky followed by a relaxing spa and sauna session at the hotel before the New year’s dinner.

Bought paint for my kitchen floor, walked Otto and persuaded Sharon and Harry to come swimming with me at Devil’s Point.*****
Getting up in time to catch the only bus down the valley to the ski-gondola.

Took Otto for a long beautiful misty walk along the river in Sonning first thing in the morning, then drove home via an exhibition by Phyllida Barlow at Hauser and Wirth, Somerset. Then a lovely catch up with Jackie at her studio before driving home…*****
Making it to the tiny village Lourtier up in the valley past Verbier, Switzerland.

Went to the flower market then drove to my parents with flowers for my Mother and a selection of fishmonger goodies for my Father. Otto isn’t allowed in the house so it’s a bit tricky…*****
Getting straight home from nightshift at work, packing the car on our way to the Swiss Alps.

Another long misty walk *****
Well this is from Friday night, so technically Saturday, but still an achievement getting through a dayshift and nightshift at the hospital on the Friday.
