SATURDAY 4 JANUARY 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 35 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FOUR

Made banana cake, had a lovely friend round for a catch up and then repotted this plant which had mouldy soil and trained it to climb around the space where the wall was *****

Leaving WinterWonderland Lourtier in the morning, driving back to Denmark. At this point still at ease and pretty relaxed, but later on when we hit the five lane highway in Basel and the car started acting up, started to get nervous if we would make it home.
Passing the very steep Hills South of Kassel, the car couldn’t go any faster than 50 km/h, but made it past the Kassel Hills.

THURSDAY 2 JANUARY 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 33 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-TWO

I have finally seen Rock, a village I have heard about for years but never seen! Just across from Padstow on a walk with Jessie’s family. I also bought myself 4 pairs of socks…quite an achievement as I have never bought socks before….😂🙃*****

Achievement; making it up to the top of the mountain (Savoleyres 2344m) in this very squeaky 70s lift in Verbier.

WEDNESDAY 1 JANUARY 2025: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 32 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-ONE

A big long walk along the Camel Trail in Padstow with our two pups in the rain…lovely walk of achievement to allow guilt free chilling for the rest of the day, the first of 2025! 🔥💥🥰 *****

First day of the new year, getting up early to go piste touring, making our way all the way over to the fourth valley Veysonnaz and back home to Lourtier again.
Went to Veysonnaz on ski holiday once before with my parents as a kid, but didn’t quite recognise the mountain.

TUESDAY 31 DECEMBER 2024: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 31 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY

Padstow for New Year with this gorgeous woman and her family. Heaven. Games, joy, good food and laughter. Best way to end 2024 💥🔥🥰*****

A moment of resting after a great day on the snowboard with bluebird sky followed by a relaxing spa and sauna session at the hotel before the New year’s dinner.

SUNDAY 29 DECEMBER 2024: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 29 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-EIGHT

Took Otto for a long beautiful misty walk along the river in Sonning first thing in the morning, then drove home via an exhibition by Phyllida Barlow at Hauser and Wirth, Somerset. Then a lovely catch up with Jackie at her studio before driving home…*****

Making it to the tiny village Lourtier up in the valley past Verbier, Switzerland.

WEDNESDAY 25 DECEMBER 2024: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 25 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FOUR

We cooked all day, had Phillip’s family over for cheese and champagne, ate the most delicious varied Christmas meal including incredible anchovy butter on kale and roasted chestnuts with chorizo….it was so relaxed, so joyous, so easy, so decadent with all the beautiful flower decorations Phillip had made including an antique glass epergne full of flowers. It was one of my favourite Christmases 🥰*****

A walk in the misty weather on Christmas day around Hjerk.

TUESDAY 24 DECEMBER 2024: ACHIEVEMENT. NINE YEARS 24 DAYS / DAY ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-THREE

Got up super early and painted my kitchen floor, remembering to get everything I needed out and not painting myself into a corner, before I left to drive 4.5 hours up to  Northamptonshire for Christmas *****

On Christmas eve Peter cooked a really lovely and tasty traditional dinner with duck, red cabbage, gravy and 2 types of potatoes and risalamande for dessert without breaking a sweat or being stressed out.
Peter’s mum who used to do all the cooking, gave him High score for the main course, but no stars for the risalamande (it tasted great, but she is very picky with her desserts 😉
Niels, Peter’s dad won the mandelgave (there is one whole almond hidden in the risalamande (rice pudding) and whoever gets the almond wins the almond present).
